Endodontics is colloquially known as root canal treatment. It is one of the most widespread dental treatments today with rapidly developing technology. People may face the situation of losing their teeth due to traumas, tooth decay, etc. In such cases, endodontic treatment (root canal treatment) can save the individual from losing their teeth. After endodontic treatment (root canal treatment), the treated tooth can continue to be used in a healthy way for many years.
Endodontics (root canal treatment) is a treatment method applied to remove the infection and then to save the tooth if there is an infection in the tooth. Root canal treatment is performed under local anesthesia and in stages. The duration of endodontic treatment may vary depending on the infection. Normally, this type of treatment is carried out in 2 or 3 sessions. The treatment process may also vary depending on the number of teeth to be treated. All bacteria that cause infection in the tooth are completely removed and the canal in the tooth root is filled. The upper part of the tooth is covered with a crown and the root canal treatment is completed. Since there are no nerves in the tooth saved by root canal treatment, teeth obtained can be used for a very long time. However, these teeth are physiologically more sensitive than other teeth.
By removing the nerves in the root of a tooth that has reached the extraction stage, a new tooth is obtained that will fulfill the tooth function for many years. Endodontics (root canal treatment) can be applied to all individuals who want to continue by protecting their existing tooth and removing the nerves that cause pain in the tooth.
When there is a risk of complete loss of the tooth due to infection or different traumas, it is preferred to save it with endodontics (root canal treatment). Even though the teeth saved with root canal treatment are physiologically a little more fragile, they continue to serve as teeth for many years.
Endodontics treatment can be performed in any season. There is no specific season for Endodontics treatment.
