A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is set into the jawbone in the form of a screw. With the rapid development of technology, it has become a common treatment for missing teeth in recent years. Since the bone structure does not perceive titanium as a foreign substance, titanium is mostly preferred in implant production. Successful results are obtained due to the body's positive reaction to implants produced from titanium and tissue compatibility. Implant treatment can be applied to a patient with one or two teeth in his/her mouth or a patient with no teeth in his/her mouth at all. Implant has become a treatment method preferred by many people in recent years.
The jaw structure is examined by X-ray. It is determined whether the jawbone is suitable for implant. If the bone structure is suitable, the implant is placed in the jawbone. First the titanium part and then the porcelain tooth are mounted on the implant. These procedures are performed under local anesthesia and you will not feel any pain. The final result is intended to offer chewing comfort and the closest appearance and to the natural tooth appearance. Implant care and oral health are extremely important and patients should be very sensitive in this regard.
Complete fusion of the implant with the bone tissue (osteointegration) is possible between 1 and 6 months. This period may vary depending on the patient's age, bone quality and general oral structure. The best timing for placing the prosthesis on the implant is determined after a joint evaluation between you and the dentist.
Implants are suitable for individuals who do not have gum problems and have bone in the jawbone at a level that can be implanted. In the post-implant process, patients should pay close attention to oral care and hygiene. If there is excessive melting and thinning in the jawbone, implant application may become difficult. In such cases, implant procedure can be performed by aiming to create a suitable mouth structure for the implant with different techniques. The presence of diabetes, bone irregularities, alcohol and smoking and different dental problems in the person to be implanted may prevent or complicate implantation
People with missing teeth in their mouths may experience both functional and aesthetic problems. Lack of teeth can cause both problems in chewing and health problems in the jaw joint. Due to aesthetic problems and speech disorders, implant is a preferred form of treatment. Implant procedure is a good treatment option for people who have lost their teeth due to tooth decay, trauma and periodontal diseases. After tooth loss, melting and thinning of the jawbone may occur. Starting implant treatment after tooth extraction greatly reduces the amount of this melting and thinning in the jawbone. In terms of oral health, it is ideal not to waste time on tooth extraction and filling that area with implants or other methods.
Implant is a treatment procedure that can be performed in any season. There is no seasonal restriction for implant applications.
