Dermapen micro-needling is a skin treatment that involves puncturing the top layer of the skin to kickstart the healing process. Dermapen micro-needling is generally considered suitable for most individuals in good overall health. However, it is important for those who are taking acne medication to consult with their GP to ensure the treatment is appropriate for them. Pregnant women are also advised to refrain from undergoing dermapen treatment. The procedure typically has minimal side effects, allowing individuals to maintain their regular activities. Mild bruising may occur, which typically resolves within a few days. It is recommended to avoid direct sunlight for a week following the treatment and to apply suncream for added protection. If any redness or lumps persist, it is advisable to seek medical advice.
• Avoid sun tanning and prolonged sun exposure for the first two weeks.
• Use a full spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or above, wear a hat, and reapply sunscreen every two hours when in the sun.
• Be gentle with your skin, use a gentle cleanser with cool water, and pat dry at least 4 hours after treatment.
• Expect redness, sensitivity, and small bruising for 5-7 days.
• Avoid strenuous exercise, jacuzzis, saunas, or steam baths for 24 hours (or up to 48 hours if there is inflammation).
• Use only Oxygenetix Make-Up post-procedure and consider sleeping on your back with your head elevated to minimize swelling or pain.
• Let the old skin flake off naturally, don't pick or scrub at it.
• Keep your skin moisturized and apply moisturizer every two hours if needed.
• Start using regular skincare products and Retin-A after 5-7 days when your skin is no longer irritated.
