The process of replacing the previous function and aesthetics of teeth lost due to traumas, tooth decay, etc. by using various prostheses is called prosthetic dental treatment (prosthodontics). Prosthetic dental treatment (prosthesis) is one of the most widespread and most preferred dental treatments today.
By removing the nerves in the root of a tooth that has reached the extraction stage, a new tooth is obtained that will fulfill the tooth function for many years. Prosthesis (root canal treatment) can be applied to all individuals who want to continue by protecting their existing tooth and removing the nerves that cause pain in the tooth.
Prosthesis is a form of treatment that is usually applied when it is too late for treatment. The tooth or teeth lost after prosthesis can be regained by using different types of prosthesis. Prosthetic is a preferred form of treatment both because it contributes to chewing and speech function and because it makes the person feel better aesthetically. It is essential to follow the dental treatments of the individual within a schedule to be determined by the patient and the dentist together.
The cavity that appears in the mouth after tooth loss due to various reasons can negatively affect important functions such as chewing and speaking. The cavity caused by tooth loss can also cause people to experience aesthetically worrying situations. In such cases, prosthetic dental treatment is preferred so that the individual does not withdraw himself/herself from social life and can continue his/her daily life at peace with himself/herself. Prosthetic specialists aim to replace the damaged or lost tooth with prosthesis applications. The prosthetic treatment is determined and applied according to the patient's needs. While creating the prosthesis, care is taken to ensure that it is compatible with the natural teeth of the person in terms of both color and shape. Due to the use of prosthetic teeth instead of existing tooth tissue, prosthetic dental treatments are often referred to as aesthetic dental treatment. In this treatment, it is aimed to improve chewing and speaking skills along with aesthetic appearance. Fixed and removable prostheses are generally preferred in prosthetic dental treatment. In prosthetic dental treatment; prosthesis types such as fixed prostheses, crowns, metal- supported porcelain crowns, zirconium-supported crowns, ceramic crowns, bridges, implants, removable prostheses and implant prostheses are preferred.
Prosthetic treatment is preferred by people who have lost their teeth due to infection, trauma, etc. The teeth regained with prosthetic treatment are both aesthetically and functionally important for individuals. If the gaps that will occur in the place of the lost teeth are not eliminated, problems may occur both aesthetically and in terms of chewing function. If this process is too long, serious problems can be encountered in the gums and jawbone. Prosthetic treatment can be preferred as an option to solve the problems before they become serious.
There is no seasonal limitation for prosthetic treatment. Prosthesis application is a form of treatment that can be performed in all seasons.
